My name is Layla Mahmoud, and Qamar began with a promise I made when silence felt louder than ever.

I still remember the moment I realized how easy it was for the world to forget. The news moved on, the headlines disappeared, and the suffering of my people was left to fade into silence.

That silence broke something in me, and at the same time, it sparked something else. I promised myself that if they could erase our stories from the news, they would not erase them from our hearts.

Qamar was born out of pain and love. Pain for what we lost, and love for what still remains.

Every design began as a way to remember, to carry a story that could not be silenced. I wanted to create something that reminded us of who we are, and that reminded the world that Palestine still breathes, still hopes, still shines.
